The Belgium-based duo behind 2021’s million-streamed ‘I’ll Be There’, Tim Grand explore a bad romance without any unnecessary ooh-la-la. It’s vocal house giving you all the feels from both a nostalgic and expressive angle, starting with vengeful synths but grabbing the dancefloor with Grand’s classic house pianos in the vein of ‘Strings of Life’ or ‘Gypsy Woman’. The serving suggestion for ‘Shibuya’ is straight up, Rotterdam A-lister Alpha Zoo in no mood for messing around and going deep and direct with funky focus. Placing nonchalant snippets of vocals by the bar in full view of the vibes rolling out, AZ’s line of attack comes from a bassline loop, with a tipetoeing groove riding shotgun. No fancy footwork is required to show who’s boss: pushing to the front of the queue in an up-down swing, Alpha Zoo doesn’t release the dancefloor from his grip for nearly six minutes.
